This Privacy Policy explains how Tutors2Go ("we", "us", "our"), operated by Christopher Jordanou, collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use our website and services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Data We Collect

Students and Parents: When you register, we collect your first and last name, email address, the level and subject of tutoring required, and your session preference (online or in-person). If you are a parent signing up on behalf of a child, we do not collect the child's personal data directly — only the parent's contact information.

Tutors: When you apply, we collect your name, email address, phone number, qualification, university, subjects taught, hourly rate, years of experience, DBS certificate status, a personal bio, and session preferences.

Technical data: We may collect standard server logs and anonymous analytics data (e.g. page views) to improve our service. We do not use tracking cookies beyond what is strictly necessary.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to: (a) match students with suitable tutors; (b) review and process tutor applications; (c) communicate with you about your account or booking; (d) comply with our legal safeguarding obligations; and (e) improve the Tutors2Go platform. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR: Contract — to provide the tutoring matching service you have requested; Legitimate Interests — to operate and improve our platform; Legal Obligation — to comply with safeguarding and child protection laws; and Consent — where you have explicitly opted in to communications.

5. Safeguarding and Children's Data

We take the protection of children's data extremely seriously. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from individuals under the age of 13. Where tutoring services are provided to children, all personal data is collected from a parent or guardian. All tutors undergo Enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding training before accessing any student information.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a GDPR-compliant cloud database provider with servers located in the European Economic Area (London, UK). We implement row-level security, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and access controls to protect your information. Only authorised Tutors2Go personnel can access personal data.

7. Data Retention

We retain student and tutor data for as long as your account is active or as required to provide our services. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g. financial records for 6 years under HMRC requirements).

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to processing; and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please email tutors2go@hotmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Third-Party Services

We use Supabase (database and authentication). We do not share your data with advertising networks, social media companies, or data brokers. If we engage any additional data processors in future, this policy will be updated and you will be notified.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated to registered users by email. The most current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Tutors2Go platform. By registering or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

1. About Tutors2Go

Tutors2Go is operated by Christopher Jordanou ("we", "us", "our"). We provide an online marketplace connecting students and parents with independent tutors. Tutors2Go is not itself a tutoring agency — we facilitate the connection between tutors and students. Individual tutors are self-employed and responsible for the content and quality of their sessions.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to register an account. Parents may register on behalf of children under 18. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Tutor Accounts and Commission

Application: Tutors must apply and be approved by Tutors2Go before appearing on the platform. We reserve the right to decline or remove any tutor application at our discretion.

Commission: Tutors2Go charges a platform commission on all sessions booked through the platform. The standard commission rate is 15% of the tutor's stated hourly rate. Founding tutors — those approved within the first 6 months of launch — benefit from a reduced commission of 5% for their first 6 months of active tutoring on the platform, after which the standard 15% rate applies. Commission rates may be updated with 30 days' written notice to tutors.

Payments: Tutors are paid monthly by direct bank transfer. Payments are processed within 5 business days of the end of each calendar month for all confirmed sessions completed that month.

DBS and Compliance: All tutors must hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate and complete Tutors2Go's safeguarding training module. Failure to maintain these requirements will result in immediate suspension from the platform.

4. Student and Parent Accounts

Registration is free. Students and parents may browse tutor profiles and request sessions through the platform. The first session with a new tutor is offered free of charge. Payment for subsequent sessions is due at the time of booking. Session packages (Monthly Bundle, Intensive Pack) are non-refundable once sessions have commenced, except in exceptional circumstances at Tutors2Go's discretion.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Sessions may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice at no charge. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged up to 100% of the session fee. Tutors who cancel within 24 hours without good cause may be subject to a penalty at Tutors2Go's discretion.

6. Safeguarding and Code of Conduct

All users of the platform must treat others with respect and professionalism. Any safeguarding concern — including inappropriate communication involving a minor — must be reported to us immediately at tutors2go@hotmail.com. We reserve the right to immediately suspend any account where a safeguarding concern arises. We take our obligations under the Children Act 1989 and related legislation seriously.

7. Prohibited Activities

You must not: (a) arrange sessions or payments outside the Tutors2Go platform to avoid commission; (b) provide false information in your registration or tutor application; (c) engage in any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour toward any user; (d) share another user's personal data without consent; or (e) use the platform for any unlawful purpose. Breach of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination and, where appropriate, referral to the relevant authorities.

8. Limitation of Liability

Tutors2Go acts as a platform facilitator and is not responsible for the conduct, quality, or outcomes of individual tutoring sessions. We do not guarantee specific academic results. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tutors2Go's liability to any user shall not exceed the total fees paid by that user to Tutors2Go in the 3 months preceding any claim.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Tutors2Go website — including text, design, and branding — is owned by or licensed to Tutors2Go. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute any part of the website without our prior written consent.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Registered users will be notified by email of any significant changes. Continued use of the platform following notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
